1997 Wyoming All-State Concert Band

The oldest recordings I have of me playing music are from my senior year of high school.  That year, I was selected to be a part of the Wyoming All-State Concert Band.  Throughout all four years I spent in high school, I was the only person from Lander chosen for the concert band.

This first track is a piece titled “Gvorkna Fanfare” written by Jack Stamp.  I play timpani on this song, and I am featured in a solo at the end.

This second track is a piece titled “Armenian Dances” written by Henry Fillmore.  I play snare drum (with both snares on and snaresoff) on it.  It includes a lot of fun time changes back and forth between 5/8 and 7/8, along with changes on the emphasized beats in the 5/8 sections.
